Brewha Bushwhack Kid’s Quest 2024

The Competition:
The Brewha Bushwhack is a team-based adventure challenge: What you know is more important than how fast you are. The goal is to push the limit of the teams’ diversity of skills and what can be accomplished together. Make your own path, and set your own pace – the Brewha Bushwhack is a challenge based on points, not time.

The gear requirements are small – You will mostly rely on primitive technology and woodlore. Little more than a knife, para-cord, duct tape, or a fire steel will be needed to complete the challenges. Your most important tool is your brain, and best asset your team.
At the end of it all, local breweries will be serving up tasty beverages, and we’ll have an awards ceremony to swap stories and compare scars.

The Festival:
Want to join in the Brewha, but don’t want to race? The Festival is just for you!
There will be several educational clinics throughout the day, hosted by bushcraft & survival professionals, local businesses, outdoor brands, and more!
Topics will cover archery and bowmaking, survival skills, primitive techniques, and more!
There will also be a variety of local businesses, outdoor brands, and sponsors to visit with! Learn about their latest products, test gear, and win or purchase goodies. Bring cash for this, as there is very limited internet at Byrd’s Adventure Center.

Kid’s Quest:
Why should all the adventure just be for grownups? This year the Brewha Bushwhack festival will have a brand new element that is just for kids.
The Pack Rat Kid Quest is designed for ages 8-12 years old, and takes components of the bushwhack adventure race, and scales them down to wilderness challenges for up-and-coming adventurers.
This is a real quest of outdoor skills and knowledge, and will include:

***If you’d like to camp at Byrd’s before or during the event, you can arrange that with Byrd’s Adventure Center on the phone or at the event. Camping is not included in Festival registration.***
*Children MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
*This is a rain-or-shine event. We will not be able to provide refunds after March 26th for the Brewha Bushwhack competition, festival, or Kid’s Quest.
NOTE: Online Registration closes Thursday, April 4, at 4:00 p.m. You can still register in person (cash only) at the event.
